Biocontrol Limited is working to develop safe, specific, effective and adaptable biological agents, targeted at markets where current chemical drugs are failing or ineffective.

Evaluation of multiple potential product areas has been undertaken using grant and seed funding, which has resulted in mutiple potential product development streams.

Biocontrol's lead product is based on 15 years of research on bacteriophage-based control of Pseudomonas aeruginosa infections.

This has allowed the company to reach clinical trials both rapidly and economically. 

The company has built on this to develop a world leading position in the application of bacteriophage technology to the control of human disease.

The company has now completed initial clinical trials of its lead product. This is a treatment based on the use of bacteriophages- naturally occurring agents that specifically target and destroy infecting bacteria.
