Biocontrol has now been advised of the intention to grant a patent by the European Patent Office for the aerosol delivery technology inlicensed in 2007 from the United Kingdom Health Protection Agency.

This grant confirms the protection of technologies relating to the delivery of bacteriophages to the deep lung, and is an important step forward for the development of aerosoloised therapeutics by Biocontrol.

The Health Protection Agency is an independent body formed in 2003 to protect the health and well-being of everyone in England and Wales. The Agency’s core business areas are contract research and development of vaccines against infectious diseases, process development and GMP manufacture of biologics derived from microbial fermentation.
