Biocontrol announces in-licensing deal with UK Health Protection Agency

Biocontrol today announced the signing of an in-licensing agreement with the UK Health Protection agency.

The agreement provides to Biocontrol technology related to the successful delivery of bacteriophages into the deep lung, and also provides additional bacteriophages to extend Biocontrol's existing library.

The agreement also provides for ongoing consultation on the development of this technology for the treatment of lung infections in cystic fibrosis or hospital-acquired pneumonias caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

This technology will support Biocontrol's continuing development of novel therapeutics.

The Health Protection Agency is an independent body formed in 2003 to protect the health and well-being of everyone in England and Wales. The Agency’s core business areas are contract research and development of vaccines against infectious diseases, process development and GMP manufacture of biologics derived from microbial fermentation.
