Biocontrol Limited holds a world-leading position in the development of bacteriophage-based biological antibiotics. The company’s lead product has completed phase 2 clinical trials against Pseudomonas aeruginosa infections, and further trials are now in preparation.

A Total of two vacancies are available. These are :
Senior Scientist and Research Assistant

Both posts will be based at the company’s expanded research and development facility at Colworth Science Park near Bedford, United Kingdom.
|
| Candidates should have significant bench-level experience in bacteriology, microbiology or virology. Experience in studies of antibiotic resistance, bacteriophage biology and/or clinical microbiology would be advantageous. Good writing and interpersonal skills are also necessary, along with fluency in English, basic computer literacy, and a willingness to acquire new skills. Diligent record keeping will be a requirement of both posts. |
| For the Senior Scientist post, candidates should hold a relevant Ph.D and have experience of working with models of microbial biofilms. Experience in bacteriophage biology would also be advantageous. |
| For the Research Assistant post, candidates should hold a relevant degree in an appropriate discipline. (BSc Hons 2i / MSc) |
| Initial salaries will be £35,000 for the Senior Scientist post and £25,000 for the Research Assistant post, with annual reviews and a share option scheme. |
